4/30/2023 0 Comments Cinema 4d priceThe Cinema 4D interface is complex but not overwhelming for digital content creation software. Reviewing "What's New in S26/2023" videos from Rocket Lasso on YouTube helps fill in the gaps. I suggest browsing the Maxon Training Team YouTube channel (in particular the "R25 Beginners Workshop") or searching for "Getting Started in Cinema 4D R25." Neither of these videos covers the 2023 release or even S26, but most R25 content is applicable. Given the twice-yearly cadence of releases, often recommended tutorials are soon out of date, so it can be hard to find recent beginner series. It has lists of recent files and templates, which is nice, but I'd like to see prominent links to recent beginner tutorials for getting started as a new user instead of the existing carousel of the so-called Cineversity Tutorials. When you first launch Cinema 4D, it launches a Quick Start Dialog that is frankly not supremely useful. The Houdini Launcher and Unity Hub are better examples of tools to manage and launch multiple software versions. Also, if you want to have multiple versions of Cinema 4D installed, you must manually download and install them independently from the Maxon App, which defeats the purpose of a software hub, in my opinion. It would be nice if this app also acted as a launcher, but it doesn't appear to. Installation and software updates come through the Maxon App, which is a barebones app for managing licenses and software from the company. Maxed-out, high-end, current-generation products will not go to waste in powering your digital creation tools. However, as with most professional 3D software, the bigger the numbers on your hardware, the happier Cinema 4D will be. It can run on most CPUs and GPUs made in the last decade combined with at least 8GB of RAM. Like most professional 3D software, Cinema 4D is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Note that most of these competing products, Blender excluded, have a variety of pricing options as well. 3ds Max and Maya charge $290 per year for their Indie licenses. Houdini's Indie subscription is $269 per year. The software pricing isn't beyond reason, but I'd love to see an "indie" subscription tier at a reduced price for hobbyists and freelancers whose annual income is below a threshold. And for evaluation purposes, Maxon provides a 14-day free trial (half of what I'd expect) of all the Maxon One products. Students and teachers can access Maxon One for six months for only $9.99, with verification of educational status. The CPU version of Redshift is included with Cinema 4D itself, but more on that later. Indeed, ZBrush remains the de facto standard for digital sculpting. This review focuses on Cinema 4D specifically, but ZBrush and Redshift are both excellent tools for sculpting and rendering, respectively. It includes the full versions of both ZBrush and Redshift, a number of powerful plug-ins for Adobe After Effects, and various video editing software. The Maxon One bundle ($149 per month or $1,199 per year) is the best value for licensing Cinema 4D. We don't recommend that, however, because you don't get updates, which Maxon releases twice per year at least. If you prefer a perpetual license rather than a subscription, you can buy Cinema 4D R25 (two versions old) for $3,495 at the time of writing. On its own, Cinema 4D costs $94 per month or $719 per year. You can license Cinema 4D in a number of ways. As it stands, we recommend it most for anyone working in motion graphics specifically. If not for the relatively high price tag, it would be our recommended 3D modeling software to most beginners. While certain areas of Cinema 4D like BodyPaint and Thinking Particles have felt stagnant, the software as a whole does not, and Cinema 4D still embraces the joy of creation. Cinema 4D is spending its efforts wisely-adding more proceduralism, quicker iteration, and dynamic remeshing. The two releases this year, S, provide significant improvements in a number of key areas, which seems to be part of a larger-scale reworking of the software as a whole.

We therefore welcome America’s proposed Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, which will strengthen America’s engagement in the evolving regional economic architecture. It is important to advance a positive economic agenda that is open, inclusive, up to date, and flexible. The President and I discussed the importance of the US growing both its strategic and economic stakes in the Asia-Pacific. It is a strong affirmation of American commitment to Southeast Asia and to ASEAN centrality. We welcomed his intention to host an ASEAN-US Special Summit here soon. Singapore deeply appreciates President Biden’s leadership in strengthening US engagement of the region. We are also expanding cooperation into new areas, including cybersecurity, digital economy, sustainable development, and even space. For more than 30 years, we have had a MOU on Defence Cooperation, signed in 1990, and recently renewed in 2019, which has provided US military access to Singapore’s air and naval bases. On the defence front, Singapore is a Major Security Cooperation Partner of the US – in fact the only country with this status. Singapore’s investments in the US, and US exports to Singapore support over a quarter million American jobs. Singapore is the second largest Asian investor in the US, and the US is the largest investor in Singapore. We have substantial bilateral cooperation on economic, defence, and security issues, and also strong people-to-people ties. And Singapore has consistently supported a strong US presence in the region, through our words and actions. The US has played an important and constructive role in the Asia-Pacific for nearly 80 years. We reaffirmed the longstanding and multi-faceted partnership between Singapore and the US, and our shared commitment to a stable, rules-based global order. We had a very good discussion with President Biden this morning. Current international uncertainties and crises underscore the need for countries to work together with close friends and partners, and Singapore deeply appreciates the United States’ commitment to engage Southeast Asia and especially Singapore, despite the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. We last met in Rome on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.īut much has changed since those few months ago. I would like to thank the President for the very warm welcome that I and my delegation have received. The US does not import Russian natural gas. Natural gas from Russia accounts for one-third of Europe's consumption of the fossil fuel. The park is approximately 12 acres in size and contains a pond, the Cork Public Museum, sculpture trail, bandstand, a café and a large children's play area. The park was named for Edward Fitzgerald, the then incumbent Lord Mayor of Cork and proposer of the Cork International Exhibition. After the exhibition, the grounds were converted into a public park, with a large pond and fountain as the main focus. The arcade version features a total of 21 characters. See also: List of Tekken characters § Introduced in Tekken 3 Another minigame is known as "Tekken Ball", similar to beach volleyball, where the player must hit the ball with a powerful attack to pulverize the opponent, or cause them penalty damage by letting the ball fall into the opponent's territory. The concept was expanded on in a minigame for Tekken 4, and succeeded by the Devil Within campaign mode in Tekken 5. Tekken 3 introduces a beat 'em up minigame called "Tekken Force", which pits the player in various stages against enemies in a side-scrolling fashion. New improvements include quicker recoveries from knockdowns, more escapes from tackles and stuns, more moves with juggling enabled, and newly created combo throws. Reversals, introduced for some characters in Tekken 2, were now available to all characters. Fighters now jump more reasonable heights than in the previous games, making them less overwhelming and putting more use to sidestep dodges, as jumping can no longer dodge every ground attack. Three-dimensional movement is insignificant in previous Tekken games (aside from some characters having unique sidesteps and dodging maneuvers), but Tekken 3 adds emphasis on the third axis by allowing characters to sidestep in or out of the background. Tekken 3 maintains the same core fighting system and concept as its predecessors. The direct sequel, Tekken 4, was released in 2001. It was followed by Tekken Tag Tournament, a non-canon installment in 1999. Since its release, Tekken 3 has been cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. The game was a major hit for both arcades and consoles, selling 35,000 arcade units and more than 8 million PlayStation copies worldwide, making Tekken 3 the fifth best-selling PlayStation game. The home version includes a new beat 'em up mode called Tekken Force, and the bonus Tekken Ball mode. Tekken 3 features a largely new cast of characters, including the debut of several now-staple characters such as Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Bryan Fury, Eddy Gordo, and Hwoarang, with a total of twenty-three characters. The game was also re-released as part of Sony's PlayStation Classic. The arcade version of the game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 as part of Tekken 5 's Arcade History mode. It was released to the arcades in 1997, before being ported to the PlayStation in 1998. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Stolen realm reviewEvery battle scales based on the number of players involved, so you can easily jump in and out of the game even in the same playthrough! Stolen Realm features an innovative turn-based combat system where simultaneous turns allow every team to take their actions at once, creating quick combat encounters that blend the tactical depth of titles like Divinity: Original Sin with the thrill of a fast-paced action RPG. Stolen Realm is a simultaneous turn-based tactical dungeon crawling looter with action RPG elements where you control up to 6 heroes, solo or through online co-op, venturing forth in adventures set in a high-fantasy, low-poly world. We have Discord channels for each aspect of community feedback.”Ībout This Game TURN-BASED STRATEGY MEETS ACTION RPG IN THIS DUNGEON CRAWLING LOOTER “We heavily use our Discord server and sometimes the Steam forums to communicate with our community. How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? “No definitive plans here yet, but likely will be higher after Early Access.” Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? Online play through Steam or TCP/IP is supported.” “The current version includes 30+ hours of content, 6 player online co-op, 200+ enemies, 500+ items and 7 different environments all with their own world maps, battle maps and boss fights. What is the current state of the Early Access version? Also we plan on working closely with the community to add the features they want most.” We also plan on adding more content in general (items, enemies, environments, quests, skills, etc.) We would like to add support for as many languages as we are able. “We plan on diving deeper into the exploration aspect of the game allowing the party to make fun and interesting choices. How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “Our current plan is to stay in Early Access until Q2 2023.” However, we want to develop Stolen Realm into the best game we can, and we found that involving our community in the process is the best way to do that.”Īpproximately how long will this game be in Early Access? This film is ripe for an action re-make as the plot is a great foundation, but it needs better writing, more efficient plotting, and some better characterization to bring out the interesting themes just ripe for exploration.Ĭommentary: The trivia section of IMDB says this is the first Hong Kong movie to be filmed for 3-D cameras and it shows from the opening sequence. It's a showcase for Jackie and his skills and one of his better finale fights in these traditional kung fu films. The finale sequence sees Jackie Chan take on the leader of the Black Dragon clan in the movies best fighting sequence. On the other, we get far too many fights of varying quality that they often feel redundant with the story stretched far too thin. On one hand, it stays simple and we get a lot of fights. This simple setup proves to be a blessing and a curse. This is a simple setup for a lot of fight sequences as kung fu clans challenge him (and each other) for the book (5 different fights in the first thirty minutes alone). We then meet a young Jackie Chan (in an unusual wig) and learn that he somehow has acquired the book and is on a quest to find a mysterious figure for an untold reason. They wrote their techniques down in a book and have since disappeared. The plot here is simple, there are eight masters at Shaolin Temple who have combined their skills together into the Snake and Crane Arts. For those who don't know, this martial arts demonstration tradition is a bit like western historical epics putting an entr'acte at the beginning of the film or a Bond film's gun barrel sequence. This film has one of those traditional martial arts demonstrations in its openings and I think it's nice to see Jackie Chan in one of these roles. Commentary: This early traditional kung fu film from Jackie Chan was produced by Wei Lo, the producer/director behind many of Bruce Lee's biggest films. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Forbidden game sequelThat’s before mentioning the slight lag delay to platforming, preventing you from just hopping across obstacles quickly. The controls aren’t always responsive and little touches – like jumping backwards from a tightly constricted handheld – can sometimes cause the camera to swing wildly or obstruct what you’re doing. It’s standard fare for these sort of open world games but platforming is clunky, awkward and less fluid than titles like Uncharted and Infamous, which came out years ago. There’s a fair amount of platforming in this game too, and using your focus (by pressing or holding R3) brings up a number of yellow handheld areas you can traverse across. There is a champion of sorts leading small bands of rebels, sporting an energy shield and some special moves, but that alone is not enough to make those interactions feel like anything other than a break from fighting the machines. The usual suspects – heavy gunners, archers and sword fighters – are all here with minimal improvements to AI. The same however, can’t be said for interactions with humans. In that respect, Forbidden West has both improved and is in need of serious improvement at the same time.Ĭombat with machines is exciting, with a plethora of new designs, moves and AI quirks that make each encounter feel new and exciting. While the story is pretty good, it’s the gameplay that’s going to swing you one way or another. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, but Forbidden West doesn’t quite hit the narrative highs that the first game achieved through its tight bond between Aloy and Rost, playing Aloy’s inner-conflict center stage and the world and its issues somewhat in the periphery view. Gone is the tight, character-driven journey about discovery and in its wake, a stock “end of the world” scenario. There are a few moments of shock and a couple of nice new additions, but the game’s main antagonists are just…bland. The game’s story is okay but given the lavish presentation and style put into this – including a stunning opening introduction with Aloy traveling West – the characters feel very archetypal. The whole final conflict feels pretty rushed in the wake of this though, and without going into spoilers too much, there’s a development with a new character that does not work, leading to a pretty underwhelming final boss. While there is a resolution to the story, do be aware that there’s a fair amount of sequel bait too, as the game preps everything up for a much larger and more expansive third game to follow. I won’t spoil much of the story but once you reach the midway point of the adventure, Forbidden West seems to adopt a lot of mechanics and ideas from Mass Effect 2, complete with a base of operations, a litany of quests to undergo and a motley band of companions gathered in time for the final fight. Returning Aloy is at the front of this investigation, and soon learns that she needs to head into the Forbidden West in order to find the source of this and put a stop to it before it’s too late. Sylens has taken Hephaestus and fled West, just as a strange mysterious plague begins to spread across the land. The story essentially picks up not long after the events at the end of Zero Dawn. However, we do also have a story recap over here at TheReviewGeek which you can check out HEREwhich explains exactly what’s happening. (That’s the last comparison I’ll make, I promise!)įor those a little rusty on the story leading up to this point, there is a brief recap at the start of this game. With new moves, a more expansive story and some insanely good graphics, this is a rock solid sequel that feels more like polishing up the open world formula rather than ripping it up completely ala. However, they’re not a complete deal breaker, and Forbidden West is absolutely worth the 30-50 hour playtime you’ll get from this sequel. Now, I’m going to try and not compare the two games, given I played 10 or so hours of Elden Ring before jumping into this one, but Forbidden West has some core problems that are hard to overlook. Yes, Breath of the Wild dropped several weeks after and took the world by storm, leaving Guerrilla Games’ title in the proverbial dust.įast forward to 2022 and after a year of delays and cancellations, Guerrilla Games finally release their long-awaited sequel, Horizon: Forbidden West… only for Elden Ring to arrive and completely change the landscape of open world games. Until, of course, that other breath came along and overshadowed Playstation’s original. With an interesting setting, amazing lore and some rock solid gameplay, Zero Dawn felt like a breath of fresh air. When Horizon Zero Dawn dropped back in 2017, it brought a uniquely placed open world game onto consoles. Guerrilla Games sure know when to release their games. A solid sequel to Guerrilla’s open-world gem |
